Encinitas residents can sign up for early ticket access to Lightscape, the after-dark illuminated trail returning to San Diego Botanic Garden for its 2026 season.

The garden is accepting waitlist sign-ups through Fever for presale access to tickets. Specific 2026 dates, pricing and the installation lineup have not been announced. The garden has not said when presale tickets will go on sale.

Lightscape transforms the 37-acre garden at 300 Quail Gardens Drive into a one-mile, self-guided trail of glowing art installations, sculptures and music. The walk takes 60 to 90 minutes, according to the event's official site. Past seasons have featured more than 20 installations and immersive seasonal scenes.

The garden's Lightscape page confirms the 2025 edition has wrapped and tells visitors to check back for 2026 details. In previous years, the event has run from mid-November through early January.

The trail is wheelchair accessible, with alternate paved routes that bypass stairs and steep dirt sections. Strollers, walkers, scooters and canes are welcome. The event is open to all ages.

Concession stands along the route offer food, snacks and seasonal drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Only credit or debit cards are accepted.

No pets are allowed except ADA-defined service animals.

For reference, 2025 adult tickets started at $28 and children's tickets at $18. Children ages 2 and under entered free. Garden members received 10% off standard tickets, and advance parking cost $10 to $15 per vehicle depending on the date. Tickets were sold through the Fever website or app. The garden has not released 2026 pricing.

The event runs rain or shine. If unsafe weather forces a cancellation, ticket holders receive an email with rebooking options.
